With support from the ADEME, in 2008-2009, the National Forest Inventory (IFN), the "Institut technologique Forêt Cellulose Bois Construction Ameublement" (Technological Institute for Cellulose Wood Construction Furniture - FCBA) and the SOLAGRO Association carried out a nationwide assessment of additional woody biomass supplies available for energy production.
This assessment followed on from two previous national studies: one conducted by SOLAGRO, IFN and RBM (for the ADEME) in 2005, and the other led by the Cemagref in 2007 (for the Ministry of Agriculture or MAAP). The 2008-2009 assessment aimed to strengthen the existing knowledge of woody resources usable for energy production under given economic conditions. Thanks to close collaboration with the Cemagref who was updating the 2007 MAAP study, enhanced data were made available for the assessment.
This Internet site was also created to facilitate access to the results obtained and the methodology used.
